Position:  Rigging Technician

Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics (ARH) is looking to recruit a Yacht Rigger at its Port Hamble facility. This is an important role in the UK’s leading Yacht Rigging & Yachting Hydraulics business with strong long-term career prospects.

The successful candidate will benefit from extensive on-site and off-site training to ensure that he or she is able to provide the very best in technical rigging services.

ARH represents a number of leading brands including Reckmann, OYS, Gottifredi Maffioli, Liros and Leisure furl. In addition to providing complete Rigging & Hydraulic services to its established customer base, ARH also supplies many leading manufacturers and service companies.

Job Description

  • Working within the ARH team
  • Dress, step and tune yacht masts
  • Assist with direct labour involved with all rigging work
  • Check and record all rigging work
  • Monitor all stock levels and carry out stock checks
  • Ensure all H&S records are up to date
  • Maintenance of daily clock cards and completion schedules
  • Ad hoc rigging work as required

Skill & Experience

  • Knowledge of sailing
  • Knowledge of marine and rigging products with the ability to demonstrate some technical skills would be beneficial
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be hardworking, have attention to detail and a very high standard of workmanship.
  • High degree of flexibility and initiative.
  • Hydraulic experience not essential but welcome.

Position: Boatyard / Rigging Operative

Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics is a thriving rigging business based in Port Hamble Marina. Due to our increasing workload, we are looking for an enthusiastic new team member to join our team. The role will include assisting with basic rigging work, providing general maintenance as required as well as helping our team of rigging technicians with general yard duties.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to get on and learn a new trade. At times, the work is physically demanding.

Person specification

  • A team player who is willing to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in
  • A keen eye for detail
  • A willingness to go that extra mile to get the job done
  • A full UK driving licence would be beneficial
